Kameya ｜Area: Moromizato Izakaya Meishu / izakaya / kameya / baseball / 名酒居酒屋かめや /
This long-standing izakaya oozes love for cooking and baseball!
This long-standing izakaya which opened in 1963 is only a few minutes away from the Okinawa south interchange if you head straight towards National Route 330.
Besides the standard izakaya menu items, Kameya also serves pig tongue stew, conger tempura, boiled chives with egg and more. The wall is lined with rare seasonal menu items that you don’t see quite often in Okinawa City izakayas. Customers can enjoy items with every season, and they even offer a variety of Japanese sake, which is uncommon in Okinawa.
In addition, the second generation owner Inafuku is an avid baseball fan and seems to be naturally surrounded by other fans. When the games begin around 18:00 the counter becomes packed with regular customers who lick their chops over Kameya’s exquisite dishes and cheer on their favorite team as conversations naturally pick up momentum. As you can see, this peaceful party is held every night regardless of which team wins.
